In the name of God, the Almighty,¹ the Merciful.

¹ The Almighty:¹

² Taught the Qur’an,¹

³ Created man,

⁴ Taught him the clear statement.¹

⁵ The sun and the moon are in calculation,¹

⁶ And the star and the tree submit.¹

⁷ And the heaven — He raised it (and He set up the balance,

⁸ That you transgress not in the balance;

⁹ And uphold the weight with equity,¹ and cause not loss to the balance.)

¹⁰ And the earth — He set it out for living creatures,

¹¹ Therein is fruit, and date-palms with sheaths,

¹² And the grain with husks, and fragrant herbs.

¹³ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

¹⁴ He created man of sounding clay like pottery,

¹⁵ And He created the demon dominus¹ from a mixture of fire.

¹⁶ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

¹⁷ The Lord of the Two Easts, and the Lord of the Two Wests:

¹⁸ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

¹⁹ Loosed the two seas,¹ meeting together,²

²⁰ Between them¹ a barrier they² transgress not;

²¹ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

²² From them¹ come forth the pearl and the seed pearl.²

²³ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

²⁴ And His are the ships raised in the sea like banners.¹

²⁵ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

²⁶ Everyone on it¹ is to perish,

²⁷ But the face of thy Lord will remain,¹ Owner of Majesty and Honour.²

²⁸ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

²⁹ There asks of Him whoso is in the heavens and the earth; every day is He involved:¹

³⁰ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

³¹ We will attend to you, O you two encumbered ones!

³² Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

³³ O congregation of domini¹ and servi:² if you are able to penetrate the regions³ of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate! You will not penetrate save by authority:

³⁴ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

³⁵ Sent against you¹ will be a flame of fire and smoke;² and you³ will not be helped.

³⁶ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

³⁷ And when the sky is rent asunder, and turns rose-red like oil,¹

³⁸ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

³⁹ Then, that day, neither servus¹ nor dominus² will be questioned about his transgression.³

⁴⁰ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

⁴¹ The lawbreakers will be known by their mark,¹ and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet:

⁴² — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁴³ “This is Gehenna!” — which the lawbreakers deny —

⁴⁴ They will go¹ between it and boiling, scalding water.

⁴⁵ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

⁴⁶ But for him who fears the standing¹ of his Lord² are two gardens

⁴⁷ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁴⁸ With spreading branches¹

⁴⁹ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁵⁰ Wherein¹ two springs flow;

⁵¹ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁵² Wherein¹ of every fruit are two kinds;²

⁵³ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁵⁴ Reclining upon couches, lined with brocade — and the fruits¹ of both gardens hanging low² —

⁵⁵ (Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?)

⁵⁶ In them:¹ maidens of modest gaze,² whom there deflowered before them neither servus³ nor dominus:⁴

⁵⁷ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁵⁸ As if rubies and seed pearls!¹

⁵⁹ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

⁶⁰ Will the reward of good be other than good?

⁶¹ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny?

⁶² And besides¹ both:² two gardens:³

⁶³ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁶⁴ Of darkest green,¹

⁶⁵ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁶⁶ Wherein¹ are two springs gushing;

⁶⁷ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁶⁸ Wherein¹ is fruit, and date-palms, and pomegranate;

⁶⁹ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁷⁰ In all,¹ comely and good:²

⁷¹ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁷² Pure-eyed maidens,¹ sheltered² in pavilions;

⁷³ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁷⁴ Whom there deflowered before them neither servus¹ nor dominus:²

⁷⁵ — Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny? —

⁷⁶ Reclining on green cushions and finest carpets!

⁷⁷ Then which of the blessings of your¹ Lord will you² deny!

⁷⁸ Blessed be the name of thy Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honour!
