المرسلات | Al-Mursalat
The Emissariesبِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.
وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ عُرْفًا
1 By those sent in succession,
فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصْفًا
2 And the tempestuous ones a-raging,
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا
3 And the scattering ones a-scattering,
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًا
4 And the dividing ones a-dividing,
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
5 And those delivering a reminder
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
6 As justification or warning!
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
7 What you are promised — it will befall.
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ
8 Then when the stars are put out,
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ
9 And when the heaven is cleft asunder,
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
10 And when the mountains are scattered,
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ
11 And when the messengers are brought to the time appointed––
لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ
12 “To what day will it be deferred?”
لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ
13 “To the Day of Decision.”
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ
14 And what will convey to thee what the Day of Decision is?
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
15 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
16 Did We not destroy the former peoples?
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
17 Then will We cause to follow them those who come later.
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
18 Thus do We with the lawbreakers.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
19 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ
20 Did We not create you from a despised water?
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
21 And We placed it in a fixed lodging secure
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
22 For a known measure.
فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَـٰدِرُونَ
23 So We determined; and how excellent are those who determine!
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
24 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا
25 Have We not made the earth a container
أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا
26 Of the living and the dead?
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا
27 And We made therein high, firm mountains, and gave you to drink sweet water.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
28 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
29 “Depart for what you denied!
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّۢ ذِى ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبٍ
30 “Depart to the threefold shadow,
لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّـهَبِ
31 “Neither shading, nor availing against the flame!”
إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ
32 It throws sparks like logs,
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ
33 As if giant fiery ropes.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
34 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
35 This is the day they will not speak
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
36 Nor be given leave, then put forth excuses.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
37 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَـٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
38 “This is the Day of Decision! We have gathered you and the former peoples!”
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ
39 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
40 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ
41 Those of prudent fear will be among shades and springs,
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
42 And such fruits as they desire:
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
43 “Eat and drink with satisfaction for what you did!”
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
44 Thus reward We the doers of good.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
45 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
46 Eat and enjoy yourselves a little — you are lawbreakers.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
47 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
48 And when it is said to them: “Be lowly,” they are not lowly.
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
49 Woe, that day, to the deniers!
فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ
50 Then in what narration after it will they believe?
