In the name of God, the Almighty,¹ the Merciful.

¹ Has there come to thee the narrative¹ of the Enveloping?

² Faces, that day, will be humbled:¹

³ Toiling, exhausted,

⁴ Burning in a scorching Fire,

⁵ Watered from a boiling spring.

⁶ They have no food save of poisonous thorns:¹

⁷ Neither sustaining, nor availing against hunger.

⁸ Faces, that day, will be joyous:

⁹ With their striving well-pleased,

¹⁰ In a high garden.

¹¹ They hear therein no vain speech;

¹² Therein — a flowing spring;

¹³ Therein — couches¹ raised,

¹⁴ And cups set,

¹⁵ And cushions arrayed,

¹⁶ And carpets outspread.

¹⁷ Will they then not¹ look at the camels — how they were created!

¹⁸ And at the sky — how it was raised!

¹⁹ And at the mountains — how they were erected!

²⁰ And at the earth — how it was spread out!

²¹ So remind thou; thou art but one reminding,

²² Thou art not over them an overseer.

²³ But whoso turns away and denies,

²⁴ God will punish him with the greatest punishment.

²⁵ To Us is their return;

²⁶ Then upon Us is their reckoning.
