الليل | Al-Layl
The Nightبِسْمِ ٱللَّـهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
1 By the night when it covers!
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
2 And by the day when it shines forth!
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
3 And by Him that created the male and the female!
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
4 Your efforts are diverse.
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
5 And as for him who gives and is in prudent fear,
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
6 And confirms the best:
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
7 We will ease him towards ease.
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
8 And as for him who is miserly, and self-sufficient,
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
9 And denies the best:
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
10 We will ease him towards hardship,
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
11 And his wealth will not avail him when he falls.
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْـهُدَىٰ
12 Upon Us is the guidance,
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
13 And to Us belong the latter and the former.
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
14 So I have warned you of a raging Fire
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
15 In which burns only the most wretched:
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
16 Who denied and turned away.
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
17 And the most prudent in fear will be kept from it:
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
18 Who gives his wealth to purify himself,
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
19 And not that any have a favour to be rewarded,
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
20 Only seeking the face of his Lord, the Most High;
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
21 And he will be satisfied.
